Fast & Pray for Kate

kateclosebw

This Wednesday September 16th Kate will have an MRI to determine if the treatment plan she is on is working or not. Needless to say, this is a HUGE day for us and the anticipation of this test weighs heavy on our hearts and minds. A multitude of questions occupy our thoughts, questions like …

Is the chemo working? Is the tumor shrinking? Are we putting out daughter through all this pain for nothing?

Throughout the Bible there are certain circumstances in life that cause for extra steps of faith, like the old adage that says ‘desperate times call for desperate measures’. Times like when Jesus says, “except by prayer and fasting”. SOOOO, here is the response that God is calling us to and we are inviting anyone who can and will to join us. Holly and I are going to seek God through fasting on behalf of Kate. We are inviting family, friends, strangers, basically anyone who trusts in Christ our Lord and believes in the power of prayer to join us.

Fasting can be skipping a meal or a day of food, in order to devote extra time and focus to prayer! However, food is not the only thing we can fast from. You could go without TV or internet, go on less sleep, give up exercise any of these activities that occupy our lives. The point is not, NOT doing something, the essence of fasting is DOING something else, namely seeking God with greater effort and intensity.

So, would you consider joining us at some point in the next few days in fasting for Kate. We are praying for things like this…

-that the MRI will reveal that the tumor is shrinking or even gone completely

-that Kate’s stomach pains will go away

-that there will be no harmful effects from any of this treatment on Kate

-that God would be glorified and many come to know Christ through this

I will post more details on fasting over the course of the next few days. If you are willing and able to join us in this then please let us know by posting a comment/prayer here or on http://www.prayforkate.com. Thanks to all of you who are standing with us through this…

    • It is an honor to join you in this important time of prayer and fasting. My family of five will participate and hold Kate and your family up in prayer. God Bless!

    • I am a “stranger” who saw a plea on a friend’s Facebook post for prayer and fasting for your little girl, Katie. I will fast on Tuesday, and will pray every day for your little sweetie, and for you and your family.

    • I have to admit, I am a Christian, but I have never fasted before this. I have just recently & completely devoted my life to the Lord. After many years of “procrastinating” & just letting “life” get in the way of my relationship with Him, I finally made the decision to fully devote my life to Him. I want you to know, that since I’ve learned of Kate and her condition, I have never felt closer to my Lord. I am a married mother of two girls and when I heard about Kate, my heart cried out for her and your family.
She is a reminder of just how beautiful life is and how blessed we are the Lord has given us the opportunity to care for such precious little gifts; His children.
I will fast on Wednesday, but because I am new to this I am not exactly sure how to go about fasting, can you please give me some ideas?
Thank you and God Bless you and your family.

      In Christ,
      Sarah

    • We’ve been praying for Kate since the beginning and have told just about everyone we can think of to do the same. Thank you for strongly seeking the Lord despite the heavy burden of this struggle. I will join you in a fast for Kate on Wednesday.
      Many blessings to you all!

    • Kate’s story has moved me in a profound way. I have 2 small children of my own. God has truly given me a burden for the healing of Kate. I will continue to pray daily, as well as fast tomorrow breakfast through lunch for your precious daughter.
      In HIM,
      April

    • I would be honored to join you from Chesterland Ohio. I could not find the words on line to new millenium by Philips, Craig and Dean…but He is the SAME GOD, SAME HEALER, SAME LOVE and we are standing on that for total healing for our Kate and for you! In Christ we stand (or fall), Julie

  1. I have followed your caring bridge site all summer and have prayed daily for Kate and your family. I will join you in fasting for Kate. I am praying that the test comes back and there is no evidence of a tumor. I will be anxiously checking for updates on Wednesday!

  2. I am one of those “strangers” who saw your video through a friend’s blog. I, too, will fast for a day between now and Wednesday, and will seek out our Heavenly Father on my knees for Kate. He is faithful!

  3. On Wednesday, Sept. 16th, I will fast for Kate by turning my attention towards prayer and not turning on my computer. Of course, on Thursday morning, I will again be praying for Kate and will be anxiously awaiting the results. God Bless all of you during this time. If only our love for our children was enough to protect them from hurt, sorrow and pain. God has entrusted you with this journey and He will not leave you alone. Here is a prayer I say to my daughter (nine months) every night before putting her in her crib. I almost lost her when she was two weeks old.

God in Heaven, hear my prayer,
Keep me in Your loving care
Be my guide in all I do
And bless all those who love me too.

  4. Please know that I have been and will continue to pray for this precious child. If I can’t give up a meal to fast and pray for a child or even adult, something is very wrong. Let us start now, Dear Jesus we know how much you love Kate, but we also know how much her family loves and misses the old Kate that was once there. I have no doubt in my heart or mind that you can’t make her whole again. This child needs a touch that only you can give her and we are asking for that. I am truly begging for your healing on Kate. Lord we ask all things in your wonderful name, and thank you for all the blessings you have given us thus far. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen

  5. I am a catholic and had a brother a priest until a few weeks ago. He went to heaven on August 31st. He died in his sleep and I miss him so much. I know he’s in heaven because he was a saint on earth. I will pray to him tonite and all week and ask him to watch over Kate. He loved all my children, grandchildren and my great grandson. I’m so sure he is praying over Kate.

  6. It would be an honor to fast for Kate.I have followed her story from the very beginning, and some days I am so encouraged, some days my heart is heavy for all of you, and I just cannot see how you can get through your day. Each day though ,you are all an inspiration to me.I pray for you all almost on a daily basis. Maybe someday I will have the joy of meeting all of you. if not on this side of heaven–then on the other side 🙂

  7. I keep up with your family through your caringbridge site. Our family prays for Kate daily. I will definately fast and continue to pray for Kate this week as her MRI draws nearer.

  8. I will certainly be praying for Kate. I will fast one meal and spend more time praying for her. I will send a link to my Sunday School members to see if they would be interested in fasting. I know they will be praying. I live in Iowa so there will definitely be people praying for you from the state of Iowa. Your messages are blessing.

  9. Absolutely I will join the McRae family in a fast for sweet Kate. I pray for her daily and think about her often throughout my day, I will continue to do so. I have been thinking about Wednesday coming up and the importance with these MRI results – know that she and the entire McRae family is being lifted up in prayer all across this World. Jesus Christ will hold you through this now and forever. Through Him you will feel his peace. You have many faithful prayer warriors in praying for Kate and this battle she is going through. In His loving name.

  10. I have been praying faithfully for your family, specifically Kate. Wednesday I will fast from drinking my “normal” Mt Dew to devote more intense time of prayer for Kate. Praying…your sister in Christ.

  11. I will be fasting on Tuesday after a blood donation at 10:15. My fast will continue through lunch on Wednesday. Our God is MIGHTY and AWESOME and it is my privilege to join in prayer with brothers and sisters in lifting your family and Kate’s MRI to our MIGHTY and AWESOME Lord.

  12. Mcrae family,

I will join you in your request for fasting and prayer for your precious Kate. I will do a little each day till wednesday. I will ask my co-workers to also join in this endeavor if even just for the prayers for kate. Much love from the tennessee and God bless your entire family.

  13. I will be fasting on Tuesday & Wednesday, what an honor it will be. I am excited about spreading this message to my friwnds & family. Your suggestions are great for children as well. Your strength is amazing.

  14. I will gladly fast and pray alongside all of these other prayer warriors, and I’ll ask my family and friends to do the same. May God’s blessings pour down on you.

    Your sister in Christ

  15. I would fast for a month if I could take away her pain. Ask and it will be done. We pray, We plead, We cry, We hope, We believe and We will fast. We have faith that this tumor will be obliterated. We have faith that the pain Kate is feeling is not in vain. We have faith that God will bless your family with a miracle, because Kate will spend her extremely long life spreading her spunk along with the word of God to the masses. We know it! We believe it!
God Bless you all. We can’t wait to hear of the wonderful results!
    The Jebber Family

  16. I’ll be joining you in fasting and praying for Kate.

I am incredibly encouraged by your resolve to hold onto Jesus and His truth through even the darkest moments. He is certainly being glorified through your lives.

  17. Yes, I will fast and pray through one meal for each of the next three days, in faith, believing for Kate’s release from the tumor, without any bad side effects, and that all who hear of it will have their hearts so moved, they will turn them over to Him, the One Who died to set us free and rose again to let us see…He lives….

  18. I have been following Kate’s story since Kelly Stamps put the prayer request on her blog. My son is Kate’s age. Kate’s journey has made me so much more grateful for my sweet son and his good health. I will be fasting for Kate on Tuesday & will continue in diligent prayer for her healing.

  19. Aaron & Holly,
Over a week ago I sent out a request to my friends & family to fast & pray with me for the healing of 3 very special children: my son, a 5 yr old that was critically injured in an accident, & your precious Kate. I mentioned a verse in the Bible where the people were called upon to fast, because the situation called for it in addition to prayer. We are already fasting on her behalf & we are expecting God to move in a mighty way. I have reminded my friends about Wednesday and we are praying not only for awesome test results for Kate, but for strength for you and your family and for deliverance from the anxiety and fear. God is able. You are not alone on this journey, your brothers & sisters in Christ are calling on our Savior to intercede on your behalf. Much love in Christ.
    Dina, Jamie & Benjamin

  24. I will most definitely be fasting and praying for Kate this week. I will also pass this on to the prayer groups that I am involved with here at the seminary and at home in West Virginia.

    In Christ, Emma

  25. Crying out to God on behalf of sweet Kate! Praying the ultimate healer would work a miracle in Kate’s life. Lifting up you and Holly as well as Oliva and Will during this difficult time.

Carrying this huge burden with you,

    Bridgette

  26. Count me in. Have been praying for your family and sweet little Kate. Have also made sure my church family is also.

    God bless your family.

  27. Love little Kate!! I continue to pray for her and will be honored to fast and pray so more.
God bless her little body and you all as well.

    Jen in California

  28. Last night I couldn’t sleep and prayed for Kate and the MRI. I felt burdened to do more and decided I needed to fast all technology (tv, radio, computer, etc.) for 24 hours and chocolate (my favorite) for 40 days. Reading your request for prayer and fasting was an obvious confirmation from our Lord. We are in this battle with you in Spirit. Our God is mighty to save!! (Zephaniah 3:17)

  29. I too am a “stranger” that heard the cry for thoughts of a miracle through another. Being the mother of 6 and a cancer survivor, I want nothing more than to hear that the chemo is doing what it is to do. Know that you are in our thoughts daily and I too will fast in hopes of a miracle! Thank you for sharing this with us all.

  30. Yes, I will be honored to fast for Kate. I’ve passed her story to friends and we’re all praying daily for healing for her and strength for you both. Know that you are not walking this path alone. Stay strong for your precious little girl. Prayer produces miracles. God is listening.

  31. Hi Aaron and Holly,
I’ve been following your story for about a month now through the caring bridge website and I have been so personally touched by your story, your struggle, your faith. God faithfully puts Kate and your family on my heart, sometimes multiple times a day to pray for. I will absolutely join you in fasting and prayer and continue to cry out with you for Kate’s healing. I believe God has raised up a multitude of people to pray for Kate for a reason and I expect nothing less than for his name to be made famous through this. When Jesus is high and lifted up, people are drawn to him. From almost the beginning of mankind, people have called upon the name of the Lord (Genesis 4:27). I believe that Wednesday will be a significant day for believers to call upon the name of our Lord in behalf of Kate.

  32. I would be happy to fast and pray along with you for Kate’s healing! God IS with you and He is being glorified through your steadfast faith!

  33. All 5 of us will be fasting in one form or another on Tuesday and taking your requests to God! We are praying and believing that God is going to hear the cries of His people and heal Kate! We’re with you every step of the way!!! Love you guys!

  34. I will be fasting from sleep and praying in the late evenings (when my house is quiet!) for your sweet little girl. I am a mother of 2 young boys. Thank you for sharing your story – I have drawn closer to God through your posts. You are an amazing family with incredible courage and beautiful faith.

  35. Thank you for allowing my children & I this great opportunity. We will be fasting on Wednesday. I will give up cellphpne, T.V., facebook. & commit to 2 hours of prayer.

  36. Aaron & Holly,

I will be fasting and praying for little Kate for the next 3 days. My daughter and I have been holding you before the Lord since we heard your story. May He hear us when we call…

  37. I have never met your family but my mom and I have been so profoundly impacted by kate an her story. I check the updates multiple times a day just to see the status and specific prayer requests. I would be honored to fast on Kates behalf! God bless you!!

  38. 2.5 years into chemotherapy with our own 5 year old has taught us the comfort that comes from knowing others hold you and your family in their prayers. Our family, including our son Beckett who is fighting Leukemia will continue to pray for Kate and you all and we will be honored to fast for Kate on Tuesday.

  39. Me and my family will Fast with you for Kate on Wednesday and pray everyday until then as we have done everyday since hearing her story. We will pray for Kate to be healed and free of pain.

God Bless Kate and the McRae’s

  40. Hello my friends…Its an honor to fight with you, I have never stopped praying, but will now fast for u too. Due to my meds, I can not fast from food…tv takes up alot of my time, I will gladly give this up to pray for sweet Katiebear!! I love you, McRae family….
    Lauri

  41. I’ve just “met” you through a friend’s post on Facebook, but in Christ, we are family! I will fast tomorrow at lunch time and will be praying for your precious little girl. My heart breaks for you–I have twin five year olds and I can only imagine what you are going through. May the peace of God envelop you in the days to come.

  42. I “met” you through a friend’s post on Facebook. But, in Christ, we are family. I will fast tomorrow at lunch time and pray for Kate and all of you. My heart breaks for you. I have twin five year olds and I can only imagine what you are going through. May the peace of God envelop you in the days to come.

  43. The Lord still performs miracles and I’m praying that He will choose Kate to perform a miracle in – praying the tumor is no where to be found and that her little body is completely healed! Truly blessed to be a part of what God is doing thru Kate & your entire family. God Bless you all!!!

  44. It is my privilege to fast and continue to pray on behalf of Kate and your family. I will fast on Tuesday. Nothing is impossible for our God! So I will hold to that and pray for His healing touch to be all over her…

    With love and prayers,
    Jeanie

  45. Hey McRae’s,

I am in! Are you targeting Wednesday? Fasting is pretty mysterious to me. I’m pretty sure I have read everything in the Bible about it, but all I have come up with is not eating for a given time and praying when hunger reminds me that I haven’t eaten ;^) Any thoughts?

    Doug

P.S. My wife Paula and my daughters Zoe (9) and Riley (7) pray for Kate and for your family every night.

  46. We are honored to join you in fasting and praying for your sweet little Kate. We’ve been following her story and praying for her every time we look at our white bracelets. Your first video of her getting her nails painted captured our hearts! She is absolutely precious and we pray for her often. Our hearts and prayers are with you and your family.

  47. i will fast from facebook. it consumes way too much of my time, and it would be an honor for me to spend that time in prayer for kate, instead.

  48. I will fast for sweet Kate, in various forms between Monday and Wednesday. My students and I will pray for Kate also beginning Monday, when I introduce her story to them. We will pray that God fulfills your specific requests for her health and well-being, for peace and calm for your families, and for a return to normalcy. You are in my prayers always.

  49. I will continue to lift your precious Kate up in prayer and will also join you in fasting in Kate’s name. I am also praying for strength for your entire family as this crucial day nears. Praying for nothing short of a miracle!

  50. I will be joining you in fasting and praying for your precious Kate. I have asked my church staff to pray for her as well. You are a very courageous and faithful family. You are in my daily prayers. May God’s full grace cover you every minute of everyday.
    It’s All About Him,
    Linda Lazenby

  51. I have been praying for Kate since the beginning and would be honored to pray and fast for Wednesday. My 2 year old has been praying for her and knows Kate’s name.

  52. Yes, I’m in.

    I have three young children.

Every time one says “mama” (and it’s a lot of times) I breathe and practice mindfulness, thankfulness, and pray for grace for Kate and all of you.

  53. I will definitely be with you in the Spirit on Wednesday and will join in – with fast & prayers.

Besides Praying to our Almighty Father & Jesus Christ Our Lord – I will ask my mom & dad in heaven – to participate on Wednesday – along with everyone they know & encounter in heaven – as well.
May all the Angels Rejoice On Wednesday – and sing songs of Praise, Healing & HOPE.

    In Christ’s Love Always,
    Amy

  54. We will join you in fasting. Our prayers for your beautiful princess never cease. We lift your entire family up in prayer each day and will fast in a special way each day until Wednesday.

  55. From the shores of the Atlantic in Gloucester, MA,
my prayers are coming fervently and continuously for your beautiful angel Kate. I pray for her deliverance from the pain and suffering, as well as for her miraculous healing from the tumor. My heart aches for you, Aaron and Holly, and Will and Olivia, as you must stand by in anguish as you try and comfort your precious child and sister. Know that there are legions of us standing with you across the country as you wage this sacred battle. I pray our Lord will shower his mercy on you during this agonizing time.
I will be fasting with you Tuesday and Wednesday as well, and will wait anxiously for word of the results. I am a cancer survivor myself, and have unwavering faith that God will lift up dear Kate, and your whole family in the healing grace that only He can provide. Your ongoing faith and courage is a true testament to his might and power. Glory be to God on high! He will sustain you!
    With love in Christ,
    Becky

  56. Hi McRae’s! 🙂

We wanted to do something for Kate in the way of a prayer chain, but love this idea. Count us in – we’re fasting and praying with you from now until we hear the results from Kate’s MRI. We’ll get the word out everywhere we can.

We stand with you knowing that God can heal Kate, and lending our pleading prayers that He will do so in this life, in this world – believing with all our might that He will!!

    with HOPE,
    the hill family

  57. I’ll be fasting and praying on Tuesday, and giving thanks to God, remembering that…

“…if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.” 1 John 3:21, 22 NKJ

A time of fasting is a good time to be so concentrated on Him that He can put His finger on anything He wants us to change, so we can indeed be in that happy place where we KNOW our prayers are answered, and that Satan, the accuser of the brethren, has nothing on us, but all is forgiven and put right.

Then faith unfettered can take the victory in full assurance of His Word.

It will be a privilege to take this course of action in order to be heard on behalf of Kate. And all who participate won’t be able to avoid the ensuing blessing. Matt 5:6.

Bless you Aaron, and may your writings bless many as the Lord has free course thru you and reaches out thru you to others.

  58. It will be my honor to fast for Kate. God’s too good to be unkind, He is too wise to be mistaken, and when you can’t trace His hand, you can trust His heart. Praying for your other children as well. God Bless you!

  59. Kate and your family have touched my life in ways I can’t even explain. I will be taking part and will fast for Kate. My prayers continue to be with you.

  60. I will do some type of fast. Am praying with faith and will continue to so on behalf of Kate. I am also uplifting you all at this time. Know you are loved with an everlasting love.

  61. Our whole family will be joining you for Kate. We will each be giving something up that we spend large quantities of time doing on a daily basis. We have been praying for our Great Physician to heal her completely. He is able.
Praying for your family in Indiana!

  62. My family will be praying and will set a time of fasting aside as well to lift up Kate during her MRI. My daughter, Lauren, is 3 and loves to wear her Pray for Kate bracelet and tell others to pray for Kate. Children are so precious and sincere 🙂 May her MRI tests come back with VERY positive and miraculous results!

  63. I will fast breakfast and lunch on Wednesday and continue praying that you will receive confirmation of God’s healing thru the MRI.

  64. I will fast all week for your sweet Kate. I will be giving up Sonic drinks and Starbucks drinks, which may seems silly but I drink LOTS of them. I actually was just thinking of going this morning, but instead will be spending time in prayer over your specific requests.
“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”
    Jeremiah 33:3

  65. I saw your request for fasting and prayer last night. The Lord woke me up early this morning, so I feel he was telling me that I’m to fast and pray today. I wanted to start my prayer with a verse the pastor used yesterday–but read this one by “mistake” 🙂 “And if we know that he hears us–whatever we ask–we know that we have what we asked of him” 1 John 5:15. I learned about Kate about a month ago and have been praying since and reading Caring Bridge.
Praying and praising in TX. I know that God is up to something good.

  66. Our family stands with you, boldly, at the throne of grace, imploring the Lord for Kate’s complete healing. We declare with you that we can do so with confidence because of the sacrifice that our savior made on the cross. We are fasting today and praying faithfully.

  67. I have an 8-year-old named Katie, a 5-year-old daughter, and a 3-year-old who has lost her speech due to a seizure…so Kate’s story is hitting close to home. I’ll be fasting in a different way, for Kate, and bet my friends and family will be joining. This is from my facebook page:

This is Kate McRae, a five-year-old fighting a malignant brain tumor. Her story (www.prayforkate.com) has touched my heart…and breaks it a little. Her parents are asking for anyone who can, to fast and pray for Kate’s upcoming test results. I’m suggesting a Tuesday “fast from Facebook” and spend the saved time praying for not only Kate, but all who are fighting cancer. Will you join me?

  68. I will definitely join you in the fasting for Kate & believing God to do exceedingly above and beyond all that we could ever hope or imagine!!!!!!!!

  69. Dear McRea family: As brothers & sisters in Christ in Dayton, Ohio, we are praying for Kate & will join in a fast. Having endured several trials myself , I have found our Heavenly Father to be faithful & trustworthy.
Our God is an awesome God!!!

  70. I too have been following Kate’s story and it breaks my heart and draws me closer to God at the same time. I will be fasting in Kate’s honor.

  71. I’ll be joining all of these prayer warriors. Praying and believing in miracles. Clinging to God’s words,”Be still and know that I am God”. May you feel His embrace more than ever now as many continue to lift Kate and your family up in continuous prayer.

  72. I will be fasting for Kate this week. I am a diabetic, so I cannot give up food, but like you mentioned, I am going to give up my TV time to focus on praying for Kate when I would normally be wasting that time on watching tv. Praying for a complete healing in her body!

  73. I will join you in your fast, and continue my prayers for Kate and all who have cancer, that we may ALL be cured. God loves the good work you are doing for Him!

  74. I will be fasting for beautiful Kate. I know what cancer can do to our loved ones, my mother fought it for 8 years, then she was finally cured and went to be with Jesus. I too was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago. I was totally devastated, to hear those word “you have cancer” the same disease that took so much life from my mother and now it was me. I found my strength in God, it is then that I realized it could have been my kids and that we are never certain where our journey may lead us. But to TRUST God. I felt relieved, in a way blessed to be the one with cancer (I know that might sound crazy to some) that it was me and not my children. I thank God everyday for that. I Thank God for that little Kate who has touched and will continue to touch so many lives along her journey, she is a constant reminder of what courage, faith and hope can bring to all of our lives. May God continue to give you and your family courage and strength throughout this journey. Please hug little Kate for us and tell her she is an amazing little girl!

  75. I have insulin issues and therefore get shaky when I fast from food. But today I am fasting from coffee (a big deal for me!) and praying for your girl and your family. Praying for a miracle.

  76. I have been following your journey since I found out about you on Kelley’s Korner. Your Kate reminds me some of my 3 year old daughter, and I can only imagine what you are going through. I have wept with you for many weeks! Since I have a 6 week old, and I’m a nursing mom, fasting isn’t an option for me. But I will be joining you in prayer and “fasting” of another type! I am honored and priveleged to be in prayer for Kate. I even wrote a blog entry recently with your family (and others going through similar circumstances) in mind.
    Prayers from Nashville!

  77. My family will be praying for your precious daughter Kate. I have been praying all morning and will continue to do so. We join with your family in believing that WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! May God’s awsome glory be revealed in your daughter.

    Prayers from N.C.

  78. I will join you in the fast on Wednesday. I pray for Kate and your family everyday. My heart goes out to all the parents with sick children. I know what it’s like to watch an innocent child suffer the consequences of injury and illness. Above all we give God the glory and praise for surrounding us with His love and strength in these difficult times.

  79. My family and I will join you to fast and pray for your precious daughter. I have been praying all morning for Kate. We believe that WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! May God’s awsome glory and healing power be revealed in your daughter.

    Prayers from N.C.

  80. I am waiting approval from my doctor and if he gives me the okay, I will be joining you. No matter, you can count on my prayers.

Also, I wanted to let you know (please let me know if this is not okay), that I’m a blogger and I’ve added you to my blog roll as well as adding a link to this site under PRAY FOR THESE CHILDREN column, so that more people may be made aware of all of Gods little ones stricken with something awful. http://www.crustybeef.blogspot.com

My prayers continue here and in your caring bridge site.
    All my prayers,
    Always,
    Elizabeth-and family

  81. Our whole family will be joining your fast and partake in diligent prayer! We love you Kate!
    Love,
Angie, Adam, Ysenia, Malia, and Jelena!

  82. My wife, daughter, and myself will be fasting and praying for Kate. We do not know your family, but your story has touched us greatly over the past months. Your reaction to adversity is a true testimony.

  83. I have never done anything like this before but will be honored to fast all day Tuesday; throughout the day and especially at times when I would be eating, I will be in fervent prayer for Kate. Blessings to you and your precious family.

  87. I would be honored to join you in fasting/praying for Kate. I have been following Kate’s story from day 1, and wear my “Pray for Kate” bracelet 24/7 as a reminder to hold her up in prayer. As a bonus, I’ve had plenty of people ask me about the bracelet, so it has been an opportunity to share and have others join in prayer as well. Thank you for your continued testimony. You and Holly are amazing! Looking forward to seeing how God will work in Kate’s life!

    Much love from Boise, Idaho

  88. I am fasting spending time in prayer for precious Kate and for your family as you wait in faith and anticipation for God’s work. I’m praying for God’s will and asking for healing with no sign of tumor and no residual side-effects. Praising our sovereign God with you.

  89. I will be praying and fasting for your sweet girl. I follow your website and pray for your family often. My heart breaks for you and what you are going through. Praying for healing for Kate.

  90. Hi! We are the Burnetts from the east coast of NC. I found the story of your daughter through a friend on Twitter. I have been following your Caring Bridge updates for quite a few months now. My heart has been broken and heavy with what you have so openly shared. For that, I thank you. We will be praying mightly for Kate as this time for her MRI draws near. May our God have mercy on Kate!

  91. I have a little girl the same age as Kate…robust, expressive, passionate, and spirited, much like the descriptions of Kate. He hears our cries, and I will fast and pray on behalf of Kate and your family. Montrose, CO

  92. I have never fasted before but am honored to have this be a first in honor of your family and your sweet daughter as you continue this battle.

  93. I will join in prayer & fasting for Kate. September 16th is my daughter Bailey’s birthday. She will be 2. My heart is breaking for what you are feeling as Kate struggles to fight for her life. Our God is an awesome God and no agent of death or decay can prevail against him. Father God, I lift up little Kate to you today and pray for you to heal her completely in JESUS’ NAME! Lord, i lift up Kate’s Mom & Dad and I rebuke the enemy’s attacks on their faith. I rebuke his attacks on their hope and I rebuke the attacks on their JOY. In Jesus’ name, I rebuke Satan and his strategies to harm little Kate and I declare victory over Kate’s cancer, in the name of JESUS. In His name, Amen.

    Three verses to encourage you:
John 14:13 – “You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it , so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!”

John 15:7 – “But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!”

Mark 11:23-24 – “I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe you have received it, it will be yours.”

We are thinking and praying for you all. God Bless you!

    Praying for you!

  96. I have read your story from the beginning, your sweet little Kate has grabbed my heart, I look everyday for your posts, I almost always end up in tears for you, and Always say a prayer after each post. She’s always on my mind and in my prayers. This prayer and fasting just gives me chills. I will definitly be on my knees pleading to God to heal her (altho I’ve already spent alot of time on my knees for her) but to feel it coming from around the world is something I can’t even put into words. What an awesome idea, and we have an awesome God who will hear all of our prayers coming together for one of his precious little Angels. From a stranger in Michigan

  97. I have been reading your site since you found out Sweet Kate was so sick. I pray everyday day for her and all of you. On this Wed I will be extra prayerful! Lord please hear my prayers. God Bless You All.

    With Love Barbara

  100. I will promise to stand in the gap for Kate. I will fast and pray for Kate on Tuesday believing that God will give you the answer to your prayers. He is able and I am believing for wonderful news!

  101. Consider it done. I will be fasting this evening and tomorrow evening on Kate’s behalf. I have been following her CB page since this nightmare began and will abstain from an hour of something far less trivial than being on my knees on Kate’s behalf. May God continue to bless and keep you in the palm of His hand.

  104. Holly & Aaron–

I’ll be fasting on Tuesday, but praying continuously on Wednesday. Praying for Kate’s complete healing…

    lots of love,
    Joanna

  105. I’ve been following your story since the beginning and I would be honored to fast and pray for your precious daughter Kate. I found CaringBridge a few years ago when a friend’s daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. After 4 long years and being told her chances of survival were about 10%, Mackenzie is now a healthy first grader. I have seen God work miracles and I am believing that He will heal your daugher.

  106. We will certainly be praying and fasting for tomorrow and Wednesday! I live in Canada, and only know of Kate’s story through a close friend in Arizona. I read the journal updates every day, and pray for Kate and your family daily. We all look to the Lord for His mercy and grace and provision, on your behalf!

    in Christ,
    Sherry

  107. I will be praying for Kate and her complete healing and fasting to ensure I am completely connected to her precious life through prayer.

  109. I, too will be fasting for your ‘Little Kate’. I’ve been following your story since first learning of your plight from Patsy Clairmont on facebook. I am a grandmother of two little girls and soon to be grandmother of a little boy, my heart breaks for you, but know that Jesus loves Kate much more than, even we, are capable of loving her. He is holding you close. I am expecting great things, as I pray for Kate’s complete recovery from this awful disease. (Palmyra, Missouri – Hannibal Evangelical Free Church)

  111. Fasting and praying for complete healing for Kate.
May you continue to feel the presence of our Lord and Savior, the Great Physician, as He carries you through this journey.

“So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. — Exodus 23:25

  112. Your little girl has stolen a piece of my heart and it would be my honor to fast and pray for her. May God be glorified through these prayers for your sweet little girl.

  113. I will be fasting breakfast today and tomorrow to bring Kate up to Jesus in prayer. Matthew 18:20 “Where two or more are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” What a wonderful opportunity to join other believers across the country in fasting and praying for Kate. God bless,
    Elizabeth

  114. I don’t have the words or don’t understand the deep mysteries of God but I know as I wrestle in prayer He hears and makes intercession on your behalf. I believe in Jesus Christ and I believe His Word and the ministry of the Holy Spirit is Life. May the Almighty be moved with compassion and bring healing rain on Kate’s precious body. I praise Him as he watches His children come together and believe and trust. To God be the Glory forever and ever.

  115. I’m in! And believing God for a miracle….

The kids pray every night, especially Selah. Since our family “looks” so much like yours, I think she identifies with Kate a lot….and her (formerly crazy) hair.

  116. I absolutely will join you in fast for all of Tuesday and into Wednesday. May God hear our prayers and grant the miracle we all seek for Kate.

    Melissa

  117. All in for Kate! Of course never have to ask, she doesn’t escape a thought! Our God is mighty to save! Praying for intense peace for you that surpasses all understanding.

  118. I’ve been praying for Kate and each of you since I found out about this. I know God has an incredible plan in all of this. Want you guys to know Faith Baptist Church Kaiserslautern, Germany, the Sunday school I attend and the men’s study I attend are all praying for Kate and your family. I’ll be joining you in fasting and prayer tomorrow, the 16th. If you put up anymore pointers, John Piper has a great book called A Hunger for God. God bless you all.

  119. My fast for Kate began just after sunset this evening. I will continue to fast as the Spirit leads. In one accord with so many others, we raise our hearts and prayers before the Lord, thanking Him for Kate’s healing. We waver not. We stand firm. Kate is a miracle of his Love and Grace and we believe and trust deep within our hearts, that God has a beautiful plan for her life.
Every prayer you have asked (and more) we lift up together for we believe and stand firm as your intercessors in Christ Jesus. Amen.
    ~Sharon

  120. I would be honored to fast for Kate tomorrow, Wed., September 16th. I will be thinking and praying for you precious little doll! Wish I could give you a big love like I do my own.

  121. I am praying for little Kate and that God would be glorified. I pray for strength and grace for your family as you go thru this journey with Kate. Always remember the simple little song “Jesus Loves Me this I Know for the Bible Tells Me So”.

  122. I have been fasting and praying for Kate, and your entire family. I know that God above hears our pleas, and have faith in his ultimate plan for healing.

“Then I pray to you, O Lord.
I say, “You are my place of refuge.
You are all I really want in my life.
    Hear my cry,
    for I am very low.
    Rescue me from my persecutors,
for they are too strong for me.
Bring me out of my prison
    so I can thank you.
The godly will crowd around me,
for you are good to me.”
    -Psalm 142:5-7

  123. My fast and prayer for precious Kate (and your whole family) continues. I began after sunset yesterday. We are standing strong in the gap for Kate and you. I felt in my heart last night that even if the evidence doesn’t happen immediately–we will not lose heart. We will not lose faith. It will happen. Her healing will come. Our faith will be increased and God will be glorified in a myriad of ways. I have pictures of Kate with written prayers beside them. God is with us. We love you. Over and Over we claim your miracle in His presense. He hears us. He will answer. Amen.

  124. From the very beginning of this awful emotional turmoil Kate as well as her family have been in our heart and prayers.
I feel in my heart that God knows that this Country so despertly needs to know that “God” exsists he does hear our prayers and will show us a true miracle!
Kate is one of the miracles he intends to show us he does exsist!
God Bless Kate and her family.

  125. You can certainly see your skills in the paintings you write. The arena hopes for more passionate writers like you who aren’t afraid to mention how they believe. All the time go after your heart.
