Our Happy Anniversary

Mcrae_1Well, for our 9th anniversary celebration today I am sitting in Kate’s hospital bed and Holly has been cleaning the room so Kate can hopefully head home tomorrow morning. Not exactly how we planned to spend this day but we will make the most of it. In fact, I have promised Holly a pepperoni pizza and corn dog from the hospital cafeteria for dinner, cause I know how to treat my lady right! It’s amazing how the years have flown by and how much we have experienced through our years together. One thing is certain our 9 years have not been boring, and I know well how blessed I am to have Holly as my wife. I am reminded of this…

Proverbs 18:22 22 He who finds a wife finds what is good
and receives favor from the LORD
.

I can testify that I have received great favor from the Lord and my wife is not just a good find she’s grrreeaattt! So today in the midst of our all our troubles I can’t help but say ‘thank you Lord’ for my beautiful wife and my incredible children! Thank you Jesus for being so gracious…

  1. You are right, Holly is amazing! And so are you! You are both blessed beyond measure to have each other! We love you guys! Happy Anniversary!

  2. You all make a beautiful picture. =) Happy Anniversary to you and Holly!

I also just wanted to let you know that you guys are in my prayers; I first found out about Kate’s story from the Cards for Kate card drive, so I sent in some cards! I hope that they brightened your day. I will continue to pray!

  3. I’ve been following along and praying for you all since the beginning of Kate’s journey. I don’t know the trauma your family has experienced…but well, I get the “uncelebrated” anniversary. My husband and I celebrated our 10th earlier this month…just 3 days after he was laid off from his job. I had a terrible cold, so we went to Panera with a coupon. It’s for better and for worse, for richer and poorer, in sickness and health. I’m sure that this #9 is not all that you had hoped for…I know we felt that. But, God has richly blessed you with each other. Praying for you.

  4. happy anniversary! it’s the pizza’s of marriage that make the ones that serve steak and lobster down the road. Because it gets you there.

You guys are a great couple!! (when all else fails order some portillos online or an old fashioned lou malnatis pizza–yes, they’ll deliver directly to your door!)–
Best wishes for many more kisses.

  5. Happy Anniversary! I am SO glad that Kate is home, and so is Holly. What a wonderful gift, a belated anniversary gift. Your whole beautiful family all home together. As I read your anniversary story it reminded me of our “sweet”16, a year and a half ago. I was still back in MI w/ our 2 children trying to sell our home, and my husband was out here in Phoenix living at my Mom and Dad’s. I called my niece to come babysit and I went out to eat at my husband’s favorite restaurant. I ate alone and read a magazine until my sister-in-law returned my call and she talked to me through the rest of my dinner. Then I left and went to Border’s where I finally got a hold of my husband. He was getting gas so he pulled into a Border’s out here and we both read magazines together as we talked on the phone. Not my idea of the sweet 16 anniversary, but we celebrated it across the miles and this past year we actually got away together and celebrated at the Lowe’s Resort down in Tucson. I highly recommend it as a belated 9th anniversary when you and Holly can get away.
Enjoy every minute that you have her and Kate home. You all are in our prayers, and we cannot wait for the day that she walks into church w/ you. We will celebrate big time. God bless.

  6. You’re an amazing man! And God is good even amidst the storm. And your 9th anniversary dinner the best! hugs from MD! .B.
